Very interesting drawing of two soldiers in uniform one most likely French holding a rifle with bayonet and the other, Swiss, dressed in a fancy red outfit with codpiece and odd hat holding a menacing looking mace. Behind them on either side are burning castles and groups of soldiers with flagpoles topped by hats. At the bottom is a quote in French that, seems to translate to 'Our principles are the same law, death to tyrants, equality before the law- Love of country.' Signed Scholler, 1796. The drawing itself is: 10.25 in/26 cm by 8 in/20.3 cm.
