If you've got the mortar, I have the pestle! There are so many mortars out there, and so few pestles. It's nice to have both. Here is your opportunity to marry this large scale pestle, 12 inches, to that lonely mortar in your collection. It is European for sure but hard to say definitively exactly which country it is from. At least 18th century, but possibly much earlier. I purchased it many years ago from Frances Pratt, collector of early European antiques and works of art, mostly Spanish and Italian.
