19th Century American Box Compass by E. Brown & Son, Fulton Slip NY

Early 19th Century American box compass circa 1840 - 1860, with beautiful hand-drawn card marked "E. Brown & Son No. 27 Fulton Slip N. York".   Edmund Brown ( 1811 - about 1867 ) and his son, Bush G. Brown ( 1820 - 1863 ) operated in New York City under the E. Brown & Son name starting in 1841.  The compass has a ripply early glass and is in original, working condition.
