Extraordinary Mid-Century Modern stainless steel and bronze writing table, desk, or bureau plat designed by John Vesey (American 1924-1992). Made in the grand neoclassical French Louis XVI taste featuring polished gilt bronze trim and an iconic profile. The desk is fronted by two storage drawers that open to reveal suede leather lined drawers. The top of the case is fitted with a black leather inset having embossed gilt borders. The table is supported by elegant fluted neoclassical columns ending with square acanthus polished brass feet. Each column is bronze mounted on top with bronze swag decorating the corners.
