Drawing by Pascal Jean Dagnan-Bouveret (French, 1852-1929) "Portrait of Miss M. Flameng" signed and dated May 1923, a three crayons drawing on beige paper in a custom-made handcrafted silk French mating and gold leafed frame. In 1869 Dagnan-Bouveret attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was awarded the highly coveted Prix de Rome in 1876. His careet was honored with recognition from peers and critics and filled with awards and prizes including the Great Prize at the 1889 World Fair. His work is represented in numerous museums: Metropolitan in New York, and Fine Arts Museums in Boston, San Francisco, London, Moscow, Munich... He is listed in Benezit, Grove, Davenport, Mallett and G. Weisberg's "The Realist Tradition: French Painting and Drawing 1830-1900."
